The Maid’s Secret is about Molly Gray —she somehow planning a wedding and solving an art heist without being trapped in the web. Iconic, really. The story has both modern mystery & her Gran’s secret past, and honestly, Gran stole my heart. Her diary held so many surprises, and I found myself both smiling and emotional.
The back-and-forth between timelines worked really well, and the emotional parts hit home. Did I tear up at a diary entry? Maybe. Did I also yell “MOLLY, NO” when the artifact went… Hmm Yes.
It’s not quite a five-star for me—some pacing dips and side characters could’ve used more sparkle—but honestly? It’s clever, charming, and emotionally rich. Molly remains one of the most unique, lovable voices in mystery fiction today.
Will she solve the case? Will the wedding go off without another heist? Who knows! But I’m here for every messy, heartfelt moment.
