Book Review: King of Envy (Kings of Sin# 5)

Ana Huang, you almost ruined my sleep schedule with this delicious slow-burn chaos—and I regret nothing. Vuk is the kind of man who grunts instead of talks..hmm and Ayana? Stunning, smart, and sick of being everyone’s doll. Queen behavior.

Their chemistry? Off the charts. I yelled & clutched my metaphorical pearls. The angst? Premium quality. The smut? Emotionally loaded and spicy—like trauma therapy, but naked. So why only 4 stars? The pacing in the first half do feel a little dragged.

We spent a lot of time circling the will-they-won’t-they airport before takeoff. I wanted more sharp-tongued banter & lesser inner monologue.

and while Vuk’s trauma plot was going on, I wish Ayana’s modeling world had been explored a bit more—it felt like her biggest battle was sometimes just a backdrop. (it could have been great subplot …)

Ayana eventually pulls the plug on her engagement, giving the middle finger to her fake relationship and corrupt agency. Cue drama, revenge threats, and public scandal.

Vuk has to face his harsh childhood and learn how to love without being scared. But guess what? They actually make it. Vulnerable, very much in love—and finally free.

Do they get their happy ending? Oh yes. Not the easy, kinda Hallmark, but the messy, “I’d burn the world for you” kind. And really, isn’t that the best kind?
